Technical Paraplanner
Robert Mitchell
Robert… in a nutshell
Making decisions for the future is one of the hardest things anyone can do. It’s a rewarding thing to be part of a team that’s able to help clients plan ahead – and ultimately to attain peace of mind.
While we do sit in teams, Montgomery Charles is only as strong as the sum of its parts. My job’s all about providing technical support to both the advisers and administrators, so I speak to people right across the company every day.
I am fascinated by the human mind and have a passion for understanding how it works. I enjoy reading books on psychology and human behaviour – one of my favourites is Influence: The Psychology of Persuasion by Robert B Cialdini.
I enjoy exercising and spend a lot of time either playing football or running. Recovery is important now I’m getting older, which means a lot of stretching and even ice baths! My favourite thing to do, however, is spend time with my wife and my working cocker spaniel, Dennis. We enjoy weekends away going on long walks and watching Dennis tire himself out with all the new smells and experiences.
We are often harder on ourselves than we would be on other people. I believe you should look after yourself in the same way you’d look after someone else.
